…Kind of.
It’s been a rough go these past few weeks. The Plan is still unfolding… just… not as originally planned.
For starters, I still haven’t gotten the horn fixed on my car. Doesn’t keep me from driving, but definitely makes it extra stressful. People still like to try to run my car over/off the road, I just can’t make any noise to make them aware of my presence. So just a lot of slamming on my brakes and getting out of people’s way. I’ve been trying to find less stressful ways of making money my last couple of weeks in Cheyenne, WY.
On another note I’ve really upset a close friend. This particular friend gave me the idea and helped me to really create my own gig business around town. It all started when I needed to make money and she needed help. Unfortunately, it can be extra stressful trying to keep and friendship, while also having a professional relationship as well.
Work (the ways I do it) can be very up in the air and unreliable at times. You never really know for sure: how busy its going to be, how the pay/tips are going to add up, if a Client(s) (…or seemingly all at once) cancel/reschedule/etc. Everyone has stuff that comes up. Some jobs depend on the weather as I work outside a lot. And family and those priorities always come first. Especially with the school year coming up.
Well, things didn’t go as planned. I did not have as much money saved up by the beginning of the month as I would have liked. The camper is the most important thing on my list. It is my future everything, but mainly housing… So, when it came time to pay my last months rent for the apartment, I didn’t.
I tried, albeit very briefly, to work with my Property Management Company. I knew going in they were never keen to help anyone for any kind of special situation. Always siting the lease as law, even though they couldn’t follow their own responsibilities lined out on the same paperwork. After not paying rent they gave me a notice to vacate… 72hours to either pay or leave or they would start the eviction process. Mind you, they now get my security deposit and I’m out two weeks early. I also had given them my notice that I was not renewing my lease 2weeks early(6weeks before the move out date.) They couldn’t work with me at all.
Again, I knew as I ran out of time what my options were narrowing down to. Even when I had enough to pay and stay out until the end of the month, I decided instead to just move out. 1 week short of four years in that apartment by the day I left. I got a little more than the 72hrs. It was more like 4 and 1/2 days. They at least waited until the end of the day rent was due to submit the paperwork, and I got a storage unit that day and started moving out. The paperwork didn’t process until the next afternoon, and they gave me until midnight on the last day.

It rained on and off the whole weekend, but didn’t cause too much trouble. I had to take a lot of time to organize and pack the whole time, too. Deciding what was going in storage to stay in storage, what was going in storage until I got the camper, what was going to various friends and family. Then, I started taking pictures of the items I didn’t want/can’t keep and started posting them on facebook marketplace. For once I actually have not gotten any spam buyers and have sold almost everything I’ve posted. Some things will stay in storage as I’ll never get rid of them, but I can’t just shove plants in there… darn it.

After I get the camper (in 4 days!!!) I’ll have to take it over to the storage unit and continue sorting/organizing/and weighing items. Just because I want to take stuff… doesn’t mean I need to or can. I need to mind my weight in the camper very closely.
Very luckily, I have some of the most amazing friends and family ever. Even though some of us are on the struggle bus of communication right now… I had a lot of great people show up to help me move in such a short amount of time. I owe them for sure. Huge shout out to one of my best friends, Steph! Not only did she help me move a little each day after work, and on her days off, she is letting me and the cats stay in one of her rooms at her house!
Boreas and Morgana are not taking to the move very well. Right now they’re staying locked in the bedroom. Steph already has two cats, Shay and Cathy, and a small French Bulldog named Ziggy. I’m hoping to get all the animals to warm up to each other, and for Boreas and Morgana to become familiar with where they are. It’s only a short period of time, but having them in such a small space isn’t fair. Unfortunately, the first morning I went to go back in the bedroom, I didn’t realize Ziggy was behind me. Boreas shot straight between my legs and went berserk on the poor, moslty-blind, smaller than him doggo. I get that Boreas is anxious and not sure where he’s at… but him attacking the small dog unprovoked about blew my stress level. Ziggy seems to be fine now. Hopefully tomorrow I’ll get to stay home a little while and really spend some time with them, not just sleeping.
On a much better note, I got a bunch of camper stuff from my mom today!

I owe my mom, Suzy, the biggest shout out of all right now. If it wasn’t for her (and her credit score) my dream would not be possible at all. She has actually ended up signing as the primary person on the loan for my camper. She went this past Monday to sign all the paperwork. And for the day of, she got 15% off anything in the store. I’m so grateful for her thinking of all this little things and trusting in me to make this whole thing work.
It’s only as possible as I make it, and I am going to work my big back side off to make it happen.
